Dana had another great day. He slept all night and he ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Assisted by an occupational therapist, Dana was able to sit on the side of the bed with his feet touching the floor. He has a date with the occupational therapist again in the morning to sit on the edge of the bed a little longer than he did today. This went very well for Dana as he did not feel light headed or dizzy. Definitely a step in the right direction!
Dana also had a visit from two of his TEPPCO colleagues and they had a great conversation (well they do have to read his lips) about pipeline projects.
Late this afternoon the docs removed the last chest tube. Dana insisted that nurse Courtney participate in the process. Dana is clearly captain of his own ship!
After dinner, Rick and Dana took a look at Google Earth on the computer. If you haven't taken a look at this amazing site you should take a peak. This site will either amaze you or scare you depending on how you feel about zooming in on a satellite image of your home. So be on the alert.... we're watching you!
Dana thanks everyone so much for all of the cards of encouragement and well wishes he has received.

I would like to thank the Carr family and their friends for inspiring the family and friends of Todd Kitsock during the last two weeks. Most importantly, I want to thank Dana. Although I have never met Dana formally, I have met him through Courtney, his mom, his friend Dave and the rest of his family and friends. The positive outlook all of you have under these circumstances is truly amazing. All of you have touched our hearts and therefore have touched Todd's. Even though we will soon be hundreds of miles apart phisically, we will always be close spiritually. We will keep Dana and all of you in our hearts. Thank you, we love you all.
Todd's close friend Steve
(Maybe you guys could ask Dave how we have successfully avoided a google search of Todd's blog. We have accomplished this without knowing how. It can't be more ironic. We have all followed Todd's lead with our lack of knowledge of computers, so for us to outsmart google is quite a feat).
Hello Carr Family,
I was able to access all three web sites for your companions in the waiting room. What amazing families they are. But given that, they are so fortunate to have met you. As you said, these are terrible circumstances, but people come into our lives in very curious ways.
Glad Dana continues to improve. Sitting up is quite the feat.
We think of you always and want you to know that our hearts are with you. Hugs to all, but a special one to Courtney & Dana.
Love from the Lakes
Hello everyone in the actual waiting room, and Dana
Dana you look amazing what a long way you have come since we first visited you in Albany. Everyone looks great and I feel so much better since we weren't able to come up this week. Good luck in Atlanta when you go. You are still in our prayers and thoughts, take care.
Love Sue
