Sorry we haven't blogged in a few days. The week has been busy.
Frustrating as it is for Dana, the hiccups returned early in the week and he has had an upset stomach, so he has been resting a lot. The docs have been running a few tests to try to determine the problem. So far they haven't uncovered anything and this morning they gave him something for his hiccups. The drug worked and hurray the hiccups are gone (let's hope permanently) and Dana has been sleeping for the majority of the day. I'm sure the sleep will do him good.
Dana has been receiving nutrition intraveniously (TPN). We had a nice chat and I told Dana what Dr. K (from Albany Medical Center) told us to keep in mind about the road to recovery. We are traveling on a highway with red lights and green lights. You hope for clear sailing all the way, but sometimes you arrive at a red light and need to wait for the light to turn green. This doesn't mean the light will remain red, as we know it will turn green and we will move forward, we just need to be patient. While many of us in the Albany waiting room heard this from Dr. K, Dana hadn't and he thought it was a great way to think about the journey. If you know Dana, then you know he is a patient person!
As always, thank you for your love and support and a big thanks to Team Greensburg - the poster you sent is taped to the wall above Dana's bed and looks great!
Safe travels to Dad from Dana and all my love to Court.

Dana, I've been away (on business travel) and just returned to check on you. Man! You surely do get around! It sounds like you are doing great, getting stronger and stronger. You'll be back in NY soon at this rate. I (and about 40,000 other people from the looks of your blog comments) are supporting you. Tell the family "Hi" from me and keep on keepin' on. You're the best!
I thought you left those hiccups in Albany!!!!! Hope that whatever they gave you for them works...for good. Keep doing the best that you can and stay positive....Like KC said--keep on keepin' on because YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!
Thinking of you always.......

Hello Atlanta,
Good to hear from you. We know you don't always have time to update the blog. Just do it when you can. Any info is much appreciated. You are never far from our thoughts. I thought the analogy about the highway was great. It is absolutely true. The light does turn green.
Love from the Lakes
Dana,
We're so sorry to hear about your hiccups returning. Hopefully that is all taken care of now. Rest as much as you can at the "red light" so when it turns "green", you're ready to go. No matter how frustrating it gets, we know in our hearts that you will continue to move forward on your journey down the "highway". You and Courtney are in our thoughts and prayers daily. Sending everything positive we have your way.....

Dana & Court - the Ledge family is pulling for you daily! We're all wearing Live Strong-style blue bracelets with "Running for Dana" on there. So happy to hear how well you are doing. Keep up the great work!

Courtney and family,
not a day goes by that we don't think about all of you. We miss you tremendously, but know that we're are all in the places where we are meant to be. Dana and your entire family remain in our prayers. It is so great to hear how well Dana is doing. He is so very blessed to have such a wonderful family. Courtney, Mom is not the computer wiz which I'm sure you've all realized that none of us are any that great at it so she said she'll be doing her writing by mail. Things at sunnyview are getting a little stagnet. They warned us that we would be bound to hit the red lights just like you described. For the most part care is wonderful, however we are beginning to realize that there is not always the continuity of care. and just as Todd gets use to the way one person may get him out of bed, along comes someone else and we go back to square one. Compared to where we started though, its all little problems. Again remember we miss you all and we'll continue to keep in touch.
All my love,
Chrissy (and family)
P.S. Linda, I'm proud of you for keeping up with the sudukos.
As has been said by others we are grateful for ANY updates you may have time for...regardless how sporadic. We are on a 'road trip' to and from N. VA and managed to surprise Aunt Kim and Uncle Craig for their 'surprise' anniversary get-together that Missi and Brett organized. Aunt Karen and Uncle DeWitt came from Pittsburg as well. We all agreed that you Dana are an inspiration and are sending GREEN MEANS GO thoughts and prayers to you and Court!
Love and Hugs on-the-road via Rt 15 somewhere in PA...(wireless cell cards are great!)

DB, hope you are well!!!
