Dana had another good day. He is now sporting a new high tech arm brace, compliments of the ortho docs. Dana sat up on the edge of the bed again today and they removed his IV. He is taking in enough fluids on his own so it is no longer needed.
Dana visited with some of his high school friends and Rick gave him another shave and he is lookin good!
Dana rested a lot today, which is a good thing and as we speak is sleeping soundly. All in all a fairly quiet day in D319.
Over and out from the waiting room.

Carr Family,
Greetings from Cleveland. It is Dana, Joe Ferraro's daughter. Dana looks so great! I love seeing how well he is doing. I know you will be gone by the time I return to Albany Medical Center. Having spent several weeks with all of you I know in my heart that Dana is going to forge ahead and continue to prosper in life. How could he not with the love he has from all of you. I'll miss all of you in the SICU waiting room but am happy to know to have all moved on to bigger and better things.
You will always hold a special place in my family's heart.
Live Strong,
Dana Ferraro
Dana,Courtney,Linda,Rick, Uncle Craig,Q,Britney and rst of family.. I really do not know how to put so many different emotions into words, but here is my best attempt. First, I must thank you all for eveything.THANK YOU! Others who have not been in this situation will not grasp the level of bonding that can occur between complete strangers. This experience has touched me deeply and partly due to you guys. Dana is extremely lucky to have the love of so many great people. It seems as though Dana was a pretty extaordinary man befoer his accident and from what I have seen the same is true during his accident "period". It truly has been a great pleasure to meet and spend time with you all. Dana and Courtney, I wish you all the strength and peace available during your long and difficult rehabilitation. WITH LOVE Robb Ferraro
I must have missed this, but why is Dana going to Atlanta? I have seen this written, but not explained anywhere. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
HI to Brian (Klotz) and anyone else who may have missed the info in the 9/7 blog...Dana and Courtney are going to Shepard Rehabilitation Center in Atlanta. Shepard was Courtney's first choice for Dana, forging ahead quickly to facilitate his being admitted as soon as he was able. With much needed sleep, solid foods, PT, and his GREAT smiles in the pictures, it appears Dana is gearing up for the journey ASAP! Ironman indeed! Love and Hugs to all....

Greetings Dana & Family! My name is Joe Mahoney and I am a good friend of Dee Ledgerwood in Park Ridge, NJ. I am an 11 year cancer survivor and I've been involved with the Lance Armstrong Foundation for the past few years. (Our SaltShaker Foundation formed a team of 62 cyclists and runners called "Margaritaville or Bust" at the Philly LAF challenge) All of us at the foundation are praying for you and rooting you on for a speedy recovery! I was recently selected to run the NYC marathon as a member of Lance's "LiveSTRONG Army Runners" Team. I mentioned to Dee that I would like to pay tribute to you for all you've done for the LAF with your "ride of '05" and all the inspiration you have given to all that know you by running the Liberty/Newport Jersey City half marathon on Sept 23rd in your honor as well as wear your name on my jersey at the upcoming NYC marathon on Nov. 4th. I will also be wearing my blue "Running for Dana" bracelet Dee gave me all throughout my training as well as my upcoming races. Keep up all the good work and again wish you all the best for a speedy recovery! You are an inspiration to all of us! LiveSTRONG!
Mike and I are so excited to actually see that Dana is doing better. He is looking fabulous!!! We are so grateful that things are looking positive for Dana. Going to Atlanta, I'm sure will be the best thing for him, he is an extremely strong person. Please give him our best!!

The pictures of Dana and outside, are great.
Gosh, I grinned so much at seeing Dana, Courtney & Ernie pictures.
Even though I'm out of the family realm now, hope you don't mind I check this blog daily.
Linda & Rick..what a phenominal son you have there. Dana? Never any doubt at your recouperation abilities.
I will always remember a statemnet that someone said. "Time is democratic". We all can chose what to do with our time. While this event is not one would chose willingly, one can/must learn/do the most you are capable. Bless those who suffer and bless those who care and (I truly believe) good will prevail. Hope all is stong in the Carr family.

I guess I should have claified my question. I was curious why Dana is going all the way down to Atlanta as opposed to staying in this area?
